Moto Guzzi Re-Enters Enduro Scene with Brand New V85

Posted On : 30-07-2018

Previously at the EICMA, Moto Guzzi unveiled a new concept bike aimed at the adventure touring market. This bike is now known as the V85, and from the looks of it appears to be a promising ride - for both the riders and the future of the company.

The Italian motorcycle manufacturer actually had a hand at breaking into the adventure touring segment before. Back in 2012, Moto Guzzi had come out with the Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 NTX - a quality bike that came equipped with good horsepower V-twin engine, adjustable suspension and electronic gadgets comparable to some of the top bikes of the same class.

In fact, the Stelvio 1200 was even touted to be among the ranks of Yamaha’s Super Tenere and BMW’s R 1200 GS. Unfortunately, due to the Euro IV emission norms the Stelvio 1200 had to be discontinued.

But now, the brand new V85 looks like it could be the next big thing for Moto Guzzi.

The spy shots seem to suggest a two-wheeler similar to the concept bike shown at the EICMA, although missing the eye-catching classic enduro paint scheme. The windscreen appears to have minor changes, while the same digital screen from the concept was also spotted on this bike. Similarities with the concept bike also include the twin-headlamps and style of the fuel tank.

Engine wise, it appears to be the same - namely an 850cc, transverse twin-engine which is said to churn out a decent 77 bhp. The V85 also features a tubular steel frame along with an asymmetrical swingarm and offset monoshock, which is supposed to allow for easier access.
