Yamaha’s Latest Motocrosser YZ250F Unveiled
Yamaha has recently released information about their all-new 2019 YZ250F. The bike has reportedly been redesigned from the ground up, and is now equipped with some pretty cool technology as well as a brand new engine, frame and bodywork.
Firstly, the engine; with a refined cylinder design for the engine, the bike will be powered by a liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve, fuel-injected engine. It also now comes with an electric start - applied through the compact starter motor and lightweight lithium-ion battery.

The new components, such as the updated cylinder head, piston and cam profile also enhance durability and reliability of the machine, while reducing friction loss to allow for quicker response.

Another interesting update would be the aluminum bilateral beam frame, which is “designed to improve contact to the ground and provide the best possible balance of stiffness for better bump absorption and cornering”. Now featuring a redesigned swingarm pivot, upper frame bracing and rear frame spars, this motorbike will promise a more fluid riding experience.
And because of the change in bodywork as well as wheels, the Yamaha YZ250F is now lighter yet does not sacrifice durability. Reduced seat height also gives the rider better maneuverability on the bike.
Similar to the YZ450F, the 250 also now offers onboard WiFi to connect to the Power Tuner app. The network can be accessed via a Communication Control Unit (CCU) to adjust air-fuel mixture and ignition timing maps - a first for a bike in the 250 cc class.
The YZ250F will be available in either the Team Yamaha Blue or White colour schemes, and will come complete with the onboard CCU and Yamaha Smartphone Power Tuner app. The motorbike will be expected to reach dealerships by end June this year.
