Yamaha had released the YZF-R1 Sportbike in the indian market as a completely built unit that comes in 2 colors
On Tuesday, December 5, India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd (IMY) peeled the covers off of the new 2018 YFZ-R1 in, of course, India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The super sport bike has been priced at Rs 20, 73974 which is SGD$43,350 and will be made available in two colour options – blue and black.
The new YZF-R1 has been reported to be planned developed as a flagship model of racing circuits that carries pure MotoGP blood. With an updated Quick Shift System (QSS), it can downshift with minimal chassis disruption while allowing full-throttle clutch-less upshifting. Its Lift Control System was also updated to have a more progressive mapping.
It comes equipped with a 998cc cross plane, four cylinder, 4-valve engine tuned to produce 200 Horses without RAM air assist as well as a maximum power at 14,500rpm and a maximum torque of 112.4Nm at 11,500 rpm.
The Yamaha R1 comes bolted on an aluminium Delta-box frame and a sporty front fairing with a central air duct that’s similar to Yamaha’s MotoGP bike, the YZR-M1. It has two small LED headlights and LED daytime running lights, a rear frame made of magnesium, better suspension, a longer swingarm and lightweight magnesium alloy wheels.
Its competitions in the Indian market are the likes of the Honda CBR1000RR ‘Fireblade’, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Suzuki GSX-R1000 and more.
