Shayna Texter is a symbol of hope for all women who have ever dreamed of making it in the motorcycle racing industry. It was only a few years ago that she became the first woman ever to win a professional flat track race.
Coming in on the heels of International Women’s Day last Thursday, March 8, Husqvarna announced its support for the American Flat Track (AFT) star as he competes in the AFT Singles class of the 2018 season.

Texter will be making her 2018 debut with Husqvarna aboard a FC 450 at Daytona International Speedway as part of Daytona Bike Week. Anyone who has followed her career will know that this girl will continue fighting for her spot at the top no matter how many obstacles she faces.
She has been a top contender in the 2017 season with 5 total wins.
“I’m thrilled to be part of the Husqvarna family, and to be riding such an amazing motorcycle,” said Texter, who won five AFT Singles races during her 2017 campaign. “I’m out to win an AFT Singles championship this season, for sure, but also to showcase the legendary Husqvarna brand and have a blast racing motorcycles along the way. It’s a very special and exciting opportunity!”
Husqvarna Motorcycles is really doing its best to support pioneering initiatives that identify with the brand’s inclusive nature and advocate the growth of the motorcycle industry.
“Supporting a female rider in the American Flat Track series pairs perfectly with our brand’s values and company goals,” said Husqvarna Motorcycles Marketing Manager, Jenna Parker. “Having witnessed a resurgence of energy into the American Flat Track series, we are very excited to have a support rider on the field in 2018 and honored to endorse Shayna’s program.”
The American Flat Track series appeals to a broad audience and welcomes new fans to the sport of motorcycling, which resonates with the Husqvarna Motorcycles brand.
“American Flat Track is growing fast and in many exciting directions,” said Michael Lock, CEO of American Flat Track. “Having Husqvarna Motorcycles competing in our AFT Singles class and partnering with one of our top competitors is great news for Shayna Texter and also for the entire sport. We are grateful to Husqvarna for their vote of confidence in AFT, and we are all looking forward with great anticipation to see the evolution of their project during the 2018 season.”
