Repsol Honda Team Focuses on Winning Championship Instead Of Bike Design

Posted On : 25-02-2018

20th February saw the Repsol Honda Team unveiled their 2018 GP livery in Jakarta, Indonesia and we have to be honest, it doesn’t look that different from their previous liveries from previous years.

Alas, it is a testament to Honda’s consistency, or to some, predictability. The Honda 2018 RC213V will be mounted by Marc Marques, whom all of Team Honda’s energy will be focused on.

If Marquez does win this year, it will be his fifth world title, which is probably more important than gaining applause for the design of the bike he’s riding. Even Daniel Pedrosa is probably gearing up to build on his two race wins and fourth place championship finish last year.

“My goal for 2018 is to fight for the championship,” Pedrosa said, “and try to be in the front group and fighting for the race.”Similarly, Marquez’s goal is to “of course fight for the championship for our team”.

Team Manager Alberto Puig said, “From a racing point of view, we’re confident that we can be ready to fight for the title again, because our engineers in Japan made a big effort this winter and our riders are ready.

“We know that our competitors will also be strong, and that they’ve taken some steps forward, but we expect a thrilling season.”
