KTM 790 Teases with More Details on the New Adventure Bike

Posted On : 18-07-2018

Last weekend, KTM surprised the attendees of the European Rider Rally with a special showcase by KTM Adventure Ambassador, Chris Birch. And the shiny new toy at the center of the showcase?

Of course, it is the KTM 790 Adventure. Showing off the parallel-twin powered machine during the event, 150 lucky riders also got a chance to see the pre-production unit up close on different kinds of terrain at the Italian island of Sardinia.

Although missing its signature orange, here’s a closer look at the pre-production model of the Adventure 790. Check out the low-slung fuel tanks, PDS rear suspension and bodywork.
Other than the performance and agility of the new model, KTM also made sure to highlight at the event the Adventure’s new 799cc LC8c parallel twin with a much more powerful capability as compared to the 790 Duke’s street-focused delivery. KTM also claimed an approximately 402 km range of the bike, due to its low-slung fuel tanks, as well as a fully adjustable WP suspension.

Technology like cornering ABS, traction control and ride modes will reportedly be standard as well.

According to Cycle World, KTM will also be giving the top two qualifiers at each KTM Adventure Rally a special opportunity to compete on the 790 Adventure R in an exclusive class. Meanwhile, the rest of us have to wait for its official arrival into the market.

For now, let’s sate our appetites with this video showing off the KTM 790. Are you ready to race?
